Computer / Computer / Computer

Have been experimenting with OpenSolaris on an i7 intel processor lately. It amazes me how quickly proper documentation of little things goes left unwritten. Yet, I have been continually impressed with Sun Microsystems and their talents at putting together a cohesive computing platform to work with at home. And I am proud to say that I am now able to comprehend a lot of Unix items that I previously, just did not understand due to their incredible tech support team in Internet Relay Chat.

Virtualization and Multiple OS computing is going to be huge in the future, and so I am staking my career on learning as much as I possibly can about it. While the Iron is hot. I’ve subscribed to IBM Partnerworld, Microsoft Partner Program, and Sun Startup Essentials, and I plan to keep receiving e-mail from bigger companies like AT&T and Nortel to try to understand what they are talking about in the global telecom arenas.

I was there during the GTE consolidation into Verizon, and I understand the difference between back office, front office, and home office work. And frankly, I’ll never work in a cubicle again. If a company can’t hire me at home, I don’t have the time to go to them. I am technologically equipped and ready for the future, and while it may seem arrogant to say so, I don’t plan to throw the baby out with the bathwater for a menial salary ever again, to a manager who cannot appreciate the talents of someone who has paid dues in so many ways in the past, that it is hardly worth trying to mention them.

In 2009, I will be publishing another of the 5 poetry books in 5 years, and possibly 2-5 record albums. Will anyone buy them or notice in the clutter that has become the internet? Only time will tell, but I was here, I made my stand, and I’m sticking to it.

2009 is going to be a different year for all of us. Finally America has a president who just might get things right and bring a little peace to the turmoil that has been daunting us for over a decade.

God bless and keep you all, for a happy and healthy New Year.

Sincerely,
Christopher J. Bradley
